Prof(Dr.) Prantar Chakrabarti was working as the Professor and Head of Department of Hematology at NRS Medical College Kolkata till he decided to leave his job in July 2019 and try to develop cybernetic care. He is a graduate from the oldest medical college in Asia i.e. Medical College, Kolkata and then pursued an MD in Medicine from the Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (IPGMER) Kolkata , DNB in Internal Medicine and Post Doctoral DM in Clinical Hematology from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Prior to joining NRS Medical College, he was instrumental in setting up and developing The Institute of Hematology and Transfusion Medicine at Medical College Kolkata -a designated center of excellence. After joining NRS Medical College as a professor in 2014 he shouldered additional responsibilities as the Nodal officer of the Multidisciplinary Research Unit (MRU) and was the Principal Investigator of the DBT NIDAN center of excellence in genetics. He was also the Nodal Officer of National Knowledge Network (NKN) under the auspices of NIC. He was also a Subject Expert in HaematoOncology Subject Expert Committee, CDSCO, Government of India and was the Nodal Officer of State Thalassemia Control Programme, Government of West Bengal. He was actively involved in designing and validating a point of care non-invasive diagnostic device called AJO which can detect the hemoglobin, bilirubin, and oxygen saturation levels in blood just by throwing light on the human eye. Right now, he is working with Zoho corporation to develop an accessible and affordable rural healthcare delivery model.
