Dr. Edward Donnell Ivy, MD, MPH
Dr. Ivy serves as the Education Coordinator for the Sickle Cell Awareness Group of Ontario (SCAGO) and the Chief Medical Officer for the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America (SCDAA). Dr. Ivy worked with the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) of the USA federal government for 12 years on sickle cell initiatives, including the Sickle Cell Disease Treatment Demonstration Program and the NHLBI Sickle Cell Guidelines of 2014.
Dr. Ivy completed his medical education at East Carolina University School of Medicine. Dr. Ivy attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Public Health, where he received his master’s in public health. In addition to serving individuals with sickle cell disease, Dr. Ivy brings a personal experience as someone living with sickle cell disease, Hgb. SS.
