It is with great pleasure that the GANSID announces the upcoming GANSID Global Congress on Sickle Cell & Other Inherited Blood Disorders, which will take place October 23–25, 2026, in Hyderabad, India.
This Global Congress will convene clinicians, scientists, researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, and patient organizations from around the world to advance scientific exchange, foster collaboration, and strengthen global responses to sickle cell disease and other inherited blood disorders.
The 2026 Congress will focus on key scientific and health system priorities, including:
- Emerging therapies and curative approaches, including gene and cellular therapies
- Advances in transfusion medicine and comprehensive care
- Newborn screening, prevention, and early intervention strategies
- Implementation science and health system integration in low- and middle-income
countries - Patient-centred outcomes, quality of life, and community engagement
Hyderabad, a global hub for biomedical research, pharmaceutical innovation, and clinical excellence, provides a unique and fitting setting for this international scientific gathering. Through this Congress, GANSID aims to strengthen South–South and North–South collaboration, promote equitable access to innovation, and accelerate progress toward improved outcomes for individuals and families affected by inherited blood disorders worldwide.
