Abstract Submission for the Global Action Network for Sickle Cell & Other Inherited Blood Disorders (GANSID) Congress 2026

October 23–25, 2026 | Hyderabad, India

The Global Action Network for Sickle Cell & Other Inherited Blood Disorders (GANSID) invites clinicians, researchers, scientists, policymakers, industry partners, and patient advocates to submit abstracts for presentation at the GANSID Global Congress on Sickle Cell & Other Inherited Blood Disorders. This in-person Congress will bring together global leaders to advance research, improve care delivery, strengthen health systems, and accelerate progress for individuals and families affected by inherited blood disorders.

  • Abstract Submission Opens: March 16, 2026
  • Abstract Submission Deadline: April 30, 2026
  • Notification of Acceptance: June 2-5, 2026
  • Presenter Confirmation & Registration Deadline: July 15, 2026

All accepted abstracts will be presented in person at the GANSID Global Congress 2026, either as oral or poster presentations.

Oral Poster Presentations

Presentation Time: 5 minutes
Q&A Session: 2 minutes

Poster Presentations

During the poster session, presenting authors must be available during their assigned session to deliver their presentation in person and engage with attendees.
Detailed instructions regarding presentation logistics, poster dimensions, and scheduling will be shared following abstract acceptance.

Your abstract must align with one of the topic areas listed below.
During submission, you will be required to select the category that best reflects your work to support the review process.
All submissions must focus on inherited blood disorders (e.g., sickle cell disease, thalassemia, hemophilia, rare anemias, inherited platelet and coagulation disorders).

Abstracts are welcome in the following areas:
  • Basic and Translational Research
  • Clinical and Epidemiological Studies
  • Novel Therapies, Gene Therapy, Bone Marrow Transplant, and Emerging Diagnostics
  • Global Health and Health Equity
  • Health Systems and Outcomes Research
  • Digital Health and Data-Driven Approaches
  • Patient Advocacy and Community Engagement
  • Newborn Screening, Prevention, and Early Intervention Strategies

Please review the following requirements carefully before submitting:

  • Abstracts must be written in English.
  • Maximum word count: 250 words (excluding title, authors, and affiliations).
  • Abstracts must include the following sections:
    • Background
    • Objectives
    • Methods
    • Results or Expected Findings
    • Conclusion or Relevance
  • Abstracts must be submitted through the official submission portal (link to be provided).
  • Submissions may include one chart or one table.
  • Previously published work will only be considered if it includes new data, updated analysis, or clear advancements.
  • The presenting author(s) must register for the Congress and be available to present in person during the assigned session.
  • Authors may be listed on multiple abstracts; however, each submission must represent distinct work.
  • All research must meet appropriate ethical standards for human and/or animal studies.
  • GANSID reserves the right to decline abstracts that do not meet standards for quality, originality, or ethics.

The submission deadline is April 30, 2026. Late submissions will not be accepted.

An international panel of 2-4 experts will review the abstracts. Abstracts may be selected for oral presentation, poster presentation, or may be declined. Only the presenting author will be notified as to whether or not their abstract has been accepted. The highest-ranked abstracts will be selected for oral presentation.

Revision: Please note that no revisions can be made after the abstract deadline.

  • Reviewers will evaluate each abstract based on the following considerations:
  • The originality of the work
  • The relevance and importance of the scientific or clinical question addressed
  • Clarity of writing and completeness of the submission
  • Adherence to ethical standards for research
  • Appropriate application of statistical methods, where relevant
  • Whether the conclusions are supported by the data presented
