Prem Roop’s dedication to the Hemophilia community and broader healthcare field is unwavering, aiming
to make a lasting impact on those he serves.
Active in the Hemophilia movement for over 30 years.
Co-founder of the Hemophilia Society Bangalore chapter, assuming leadership roles at chapter and
national levels.
Instrumental in strengthening the Hemophilia movement in Karnataka, leading to the state becoming the
first to provide free treatment.
Elected as the first chairman of the youth group of HFI in 2010, organizing various empowerment camps and social events.
Played a key role in developing the National Hemophilia Registry and Program Implementation Plan for Karnataka.
Part of the organizing team for the International Workshop on Prevention and Management of Haemoglobinopathies and
Hemophilia in 2018.
Represented the Hemophilia community in India on national and international platforms.
Actively involved in clinical trials for Hemophilia B.
Currently serving as the President of the Hemophilia Federation (India), advocating for improved treatment nationwide.
Driving the execution of pan-India projects, including healthcare professional training and youth/women’s development
workshops.
Contributed to the revision of national guidelines for Hemophilia, Thalassemia, and Sickle Cell Anemia inclusion criteria in 2023.
Working towards developing comprehensive national treatment guidelines and inclusive disability and insurance policies.
