
Prof. Saleh Yuguda
Prof. Yuguda currently serves as the Director-General of the National Blood Service Commission (NBSC) in Nigeria. He earned his MBBS degree from the University of Maiduguri in 2004 and subsequently completed his residency training in Hematology and Blood Transfusion at the University College Hospital, Ibadan. In 2012, he became a Fellow of the Faculty of Pathology at the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and is also a Fellow of the International Hemophilia Treatment Center.
At NBSC, he leads nationwide efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s blood transfusion system, ensuring safety, quality, and sustainability in line with global best practices. Before his current role, he served as an Honorary Consultant Hematologist at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe, and as a lecturer at Gombe State University.
