“Dr. Shruti Kakkar is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics and serves as a Consultant in the Clinical Hematology and Stem Cell Transplant Unit at Christian Medical College and Hospital. She is dedicated to the care of children with hematological disorders, childhood cancers, and patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. With extensive clinical and academic experience in pediatric hematology-oncology, her work focuses on improving access to comprehensive care for children with complex blood disorders.
Dr. Kakkar has a special interest in thalassemia, bone marrow transplantation, hemoglobinopathies, and supportive care in resource-limited settings. She is actively involved in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and capacity-building programs aimed at strengthening childhood cancer and hematology services across India. Her research has contributed to advancing knowledge in thalassemia management, iron overload, and innovative therapeutic approaches.
In addition to patient care and research, she is deeply committed to teaching and mentoring undergraduate, postgraduate, and superspecialty trainees, fostering the next generation of pediatric hematology and oncology professionals.”
