
Dr. Suman Jain
Chief Medical Research Officer and Secretary
Dr. Suman Jain is a distinguished pediatrician, researcher, and public health professional dedicated to improving the lives of individuals affected by thalassemia, sickle cell anemia and other hemoglobin disorders. She completed her MBBS from Kolkata and her Diploma in Child Health (DCH) from Bombay. She currently serves as the Secretary and Chief Medical Research Officer at the Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Society (TSCS), Hyderabad, where she leads initiatives in patient care, research, prevention, and advocacy. She also serves as a part-time Senior Research Officer at Neerikshana, pursuing research in peripheral nerve damage in leprosy. Dr. Jain has published 41 research papers in National and International journals and has contributed a book chapter on imaging techniques in leprosy. Her research excellence has been recognized with international travel grants from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and support from the American Leprosy Mission. She has also organized ICMR-supported workshops on peripheral nerve ultrasonography, reflecting her commitment to advancing medical education and research. Her career exemplifies a strong dedication to scientific innovation, compassionate patient care, and public health service.
