Zakareya Ebrahim Alkadhem is the Secretary-General of the Bahrain Society for Sickle Cell Disease Patient Care. He holds a masterโs degree from the University of Glamorgan, Wales, United Kingdom.
Recognized as one of the most influential voices in the Arab world advocating for sickle cell disease awareness and patient care, Mr. Alkadhem is deeply committed to supporting and promoting this aspect on a personal and international level.
He is a board member of the Australian Sickle Cell & Thalassaemia Association (ASCVI) and the Global Alliance of Sickle Cell Disease Organizations (GASCDO) based in Canada. Mr. Alkadhem has served as a speaker at numerous regional and international conferences and workshops, including events hosted by the Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia (MOHJA), the Kuwait Hematology Society, GASDO 2024 (Oman), Collaborate Portugal, Rare Cancers Australia, Rare Diseases Dubai, and the African Congress 2020.
