
Dr. Inusa
Dr. Inusa is a senior physician–scientist and biopharmaceutical leader with more than three decades of experience in global clinical research, translational medicine, and therapeutic innovation across haematology, cardiovascular, and renal diseases. His career spans academia, clinical practice, and industry, with a sustained focus on bridging scientific discovery with clinical development and improving real-world patient outcomes. He has led multicentre clinical trials, advanced therapy development for sickle cell disease (SCD), and contributed to global capacity-building initiatives in haematology through Health Volunteers Overseas (HVO) across Africa and Latin America.
In his role as International Medical Vice President, Rare Diseases at Novo Nordisk, he has led early-phase clinical development programmes, including biomarker integration, endpoint strategy, and Phase I–III clinical trial design. He works closely with clinical pharmacology, translational science, and digital innovation teams to strengthen evidence generation, de-risk development pathways, and align regulatory strategies across therapeutic areas.
He is deeply committed to mentoring early-career scientists and advancing international collaborations that support translational research and patient-centred care. He contributes to global advisory boards, working groups, and scientific consortia focused on accelerating innovation in rare diseases. He has authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications, including two textbooks, and has served as an associate editor and editorial board member.
