Professor Jennifer Knight-Madden is the former Director (2014-2021) of the Sickle Cell Unit, at the Caribbean Institute for Health Research, The University of the West Indies (UWI). She is active in national and national SCD Organizations: Sickle Cell Technical Working Group (Co-Chair); the Caribbean Network of Researchers in Sickle Cell Disease and Thalassemia (Vice President); the SickKids Caribbean Initiative; National Institutes of Health Data Safety Monitoring Boards for studies in Africa (Chair of two Boards); Scientific Committee for Global SCD Congresses; SCIF Conferences Co-Chair.
Prof Knight-Madden reviewed grant proposals for the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Global Health Research Centre Call 1; is on the National Committee on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and chairs the Advisory Panel on Ethics and Medico-Legal Affairs, MOHW. Professor Knight-Madden is married and has two daughters. She is a member of the Christian Life Fellowship.
