Dr. J.S Arora
Dr. J.S Arora completed his master’s in hemoglobinopathy at the University College, London. He is the founding president of the National Thalassemia Welfare Society (established in 1991) and currently serves as its Chief Executive Officer.
He is also the general secretary of the National Thalassemia Welfare Society since 1994 and the founding General Secretary of the Federation of Indian Thalassemics (an all-India body of all the Thalassemia Societies).
A firm believer in collaborative initiatives, Dr. Arora is a founding member of the Indian Alliance of Patient Groups (IAPG) and Director of Patient Safety for the Genomics and Public Health Foundation (Founding Trustee). He is also the president of the Pahuja Trust for Blood Disorders
J.S Arora is a member of the Advisory Committee Patients for Patient Safety Programme, WHO (2014 – continuing) and an advisory board member of, the World Patient Alliance (WPA) (2022-24). He is serving on different health committees not limited to:
- Ethics Committees IIT Delhi IEC-HR, University College of Medical Sciences, Delhi.
- Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalya Govt. of Delhi
- ITS Dental College, Hospital & Research Centre, Greater NOIDA
He has received many awards including the Life Time Service Award” from the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Chambers of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics. He has also authored/co-authored many publications and is a reviewer of the pediatric Hematology-Oncology journal
