The Global Action Network for Sickle Cell & Other Inherited Blood Disorders (GANSID) hopes for uniformity in awareness campaigns as we celebrate #WorldSickleCellDay on June 19, 2024.

Purpose of the Toolkit: This toolkit is intended to help individuals affected by sickle cell disease, patient and community organizations, health and social services providers, health care provider organizations, industry partners, media creators, affiliates, and collaborators to raise awareness and highlight advances in sickle cell disease on June 19th.
As you will find, we have created sample posts and provided campaign materials to support you in a uniform awareness campaign for #WorldSickleCellDay2024.

HELPFUL HINTS:
You can use the posters/graphics we have created or create your own when sharing our sample posts. Add an image to your post. Your creativity is encouraged. Sample posts could talk about your resilience in the face of a difficult situation that is sickle cell-related, your family, or your organization to connect with viewers.
Tag #GANSID, your followers, public figures, leaders, celebrities, and more to encourage additional participation and engagement. If you know someone who may be interested #GANSID tag them to spread the word.
Include the call to action: Follow #GANSID on social media platforms @iblooddisorders to be a part of the global #HereditaryBloodDisorders movement.
The best way to raise awareness is to spread the word and encourage others to join. Make sure you use clear wording, so your followers know what you’re asking them and how they can join #GANSID in improving the #HealthOutcomes of people affected by #SickleCellDisease.
Try to engage with your followers as much as you can. Answer questions and comments under your posts.
